Murrplastik introduces Flexible Holder System For Collaborative Robots

April 12, 2018

The FHS-SH (Flexible holder system with system holder SH) consists of the FHS-SH base body, an SH holder mounted on top and a buckle strap which is available in four lengths. It is available as a separate article with just one length of buckle strap or as a set including all four lengths of the buckle strap + FHS-SH and SH holder .
The FHS-SH is suitable for handling small dress packs at slow to medium movement speeds where high system security is required. The length selection of the buckle strap can be adapted to the diameter of the robot arm as these may vary.
Due to the additional system holder SH, the buckle strap in this case is only used to fix the FHS-SH to the robot arm. As a result it can adjust a larger range of diameters than the FHS-C type.

Turck introduces Compact Ultrasonic Sensors with IO-Link Technology

April 11, 2018

To further diversify our ultrasonic sensor portfolio, Turck has released a compact ultrasonic sensor with IO-Link technology. The cost-effective design of this sensor still offers the advantages of a standard ultrasonic sensor as well as communication and advanced functions via IO-Link (Version 1.1).

The new device can be taught as a standard sensor via teach-by-wire or programmed and used via IO-Link. Advanced functions such as synchronization allows multiple sensors to be synchronized together without the risk of interfering with each other. When used in this mode, all sensors will transmit and receive information together, which increases the coverage area and provides a single output from multiple sensors.

Additionally, multiplexing mode allows several sensors to be mounted close together without interference while providing individual outputs.

These sensors are offered in front and side sensing models, rated to IP67, and available with M18 threaded barrel housings and M12x1 Eurofast connectors.

They reliably detect very small parts and other challenging targets, such as dark, multicolored, or reflective objects. These miniature sensors are ideal for use in small spaces and near moving parts on machinery. They are also an easy-to-implement and cost-effective alternative to fiber optic systems in some applications.

Key Benefits:

  • Versatility: Sensors in the VS8 series have a space-saving form factor (21.1 mm x 14.6 mm x 8 mm). They are available in laser and LED models and in four different sensing modes. Users can match the sensing technology to the application without altering equipment design.
  • Rapid Integration: Industry standard side mounting holes with 15 mm spacing simplify installation on new or existing equipment. The dovetail mounting option allows ±10° tip/pivot adjustments for quick, precise alignment. High-visibility status LEDs, electronic push-button and remote input teach make it easy to program the sensors.
  • Precision: Models with a red laser sensing beam have a bright, precise spot for detecting small objects and multicolored targets. Red laser models with adjustable or fixed-field background suppression can detect an object with a diameter of 0.5 mm at a distance of 70 mm.
  • Reliable Detection of Challenging Targets: Models with a blue LED sensing beam reliably detect difficult targets with dark or reflective surfaces and transparent objects, like foils, thin films, glass, and plastic. These models do not require a reflector, ideal for use in space-constrained applications.

Murrplastik Laser Marking Systems Are Ideal for High-Volume Projects

March 7, 2018

Manufacturers in many industries recognize the importance of identification and traceability for their components. Thanks to abrasion-proof laser technology, adding labels to plastic and metal plates in medium- to high-volume projects doesn’t have to be complex and expensive.

Laser marking systems such as Murrplastik’s mp-LM Series make inscriptions for the company’s polycarbonate and polypropylene ID plates as well as anodized aluminum and stainless steel media. Using mirrors, the devices direct a laser beam onto material. The laser’s heat causes carbon emission which darkens the material to create a visual contrast and a long-lasting mark.

Why use laser marking for your inscription needs?

  • Contactless Marking. Since laser marking systems use direct energy from a laser to create the mark, they are non-abrasive. Ink cannot rub off or fade with time, and the resulting surface remains smooth.
  • Economical. Laser marking doesn’t require consumables, so users save on ink and chemical system maintenance and supplies. Combined with low initial costs, laser marking systems offer excellent value.
  • Flexibility and adaptability. Laser labelling systems accommodate a wide range of applications including cables, leads, terminals, control panels and signalling equipment, switchgear and media devices. They are able to label a variety of base materials, and systems can be controlled via software when connected to a PC with a USB port or Ethernet.
