Banner Engineering Q4X Sensors Available in Long-Range Models

The Q4X with 600 mm range (610 mm for flush mount models) is a high-performance laser measurement sensor capable of exceptional levels of precision. It is up to three times more precise and has double the maximum sensing range previously available.

The Q4X with 500 mm range and standard resolution is a longer range alternative to the standard 300 mm model.

Like other sensors in the Q4X Series, these new models feature dual-mode detection and reliably detect targets regardless of shape, size, material, color, and transparency.

Allied Moulded Products, Inc., an industry leader in nonmetallic electrical boxes and enclosures, is expanding its line of premium enclosure accessories with NEMA 4X ventilator kits for electrical enclosure applications. (P/N AMVENT4XLG)

The vent kits are designed to provide thermal cooling for instruments or electronics installed inside electrical enclosures plus rain-tight protection for the air flow passages through the enclosure walls. The vent kit features a strong and rigid design as they are molded of polycarbonate thermoplastic material and maintains a NEMA 4X seal with the use of a Formed-In-Place (FIP) polyurethane gasket system. They are well-suited for outdoor applications plus UL® listed for use on a flat surface of NEMA 4X enclosures. The mounting procedure is relatively simple plus the internal baffle system ensures zero water infiltration when exposed to rain in outdoor applications. 

Turck Introduces IO-Link Capable uprox3 Sensors

Turck is now offering its Uprox3 sensor in an IO-Link-capable version. Turck’s Uprox3 sensor line offers the longest sensing distances of all factor 1 sensors on the market, and now coupled with IO-Link capabilities, allows for more flexibility and intelligence to be integrated into sensing applications.

With the use of the Uprox® IO-link sensors, you reduce costs in new and existing applications. Easy configuration allows you to flexibly adapt the sensors to your needs. You can not only set the output functions and the sensing distances, but special functions are included and can be used whenever needed. Additionally, each adjustable switching distance can be run sequentially in combination with an IO-Link master. Also, the sensors include all standard Uprox3 benefits such as factor 1 with the longest sensing distances and an excellent magnetic field strength. The reduction of variants streamlines the ordering of the product, and also minimizes the storage and administrative costs for customers.

In IO-Link mode, the sensor is operated on an IO-Link master. This enables access to all parameter and evaluation functions. The intelligent data retention with IO-Link 1.1 allows a sensor to be exchanged without having to reset parameters. The process data Uprox3-IOL provides further analysis options such as application-specific switch points, temperature limits, etc., or an identification number. These can be used to identify 256 different nodes. The sensing of targets and their simultaneous identification can then be implemented with a single sensor.

Turck is initially offering four variants of Uprox3 IO-Link: an M12, M18, and M30 barrel style, all in a chrome brass housing, as well as PTFE-coated variants for welding applications. Additionally, a rectangular CK40 style is also included in the series.

Nippon Pulse debuts small-forcer linear servo motor for high-density applications

Nippon Pulse America Inc. is excited to introduce one of the smallest available linear motors for high-density applications, the L250SSS Linear Shaft Motor. It is a 25mm diameter linear servo motor with a single winding and our smallest available forcer – only 30mm in length, and with higher force than competing off-the-shelf motors. Its maximum usable stroke reaches to more than two meters in length.
 

The L250SSS motor is part of Nippon Pulse’s existing SS series of Linear Shaft Motors, which features small forcers and stack-lengths for high-density applications. The SS series motors are available in 25, 32 and 35mm shaft diameter sizes, and with single, double, triple and quadruple winding options. Both the L250SSS and the other motors in the SS series are ideal for life sciences and industrial applications in which multiple forcers are required to travel along a single shaft.

Turck Expands Breadth of Ultrasonic Sensor Products with Six Line Extensions

Turck introduces six line extensions to its ultrasonic sensor offerings. These new products expand the breadth of Turck’s solutions to build a more comprehensive ultrasonic sensor portfolio for its customers.

Ultrasonic sensors are ideal in applications with demanding requirements, such as long sensing ranges, non-metallic, irregularly shaped or transparent targets, wide sensing areas and when dust or oil films are present. Featuring advanced technology, Turck’s ultrasonic sensors address these challenges to deliver dependable object detection.

The sensors are available in a variety of housing styles with multiple feature sets to solve difficult applications. The rectangular packages of the CP40 and CK40 product families offer sensing ranges up to two meters with either a single digital output or a digital and analog output. The barrel style family offers 18 and 30 mm barrels with either a single digital output, dual digital outputs, or a digital output and an analog output. The digital and analog output version offers the advantage of IO-Link capabilities, making parameterization, diagnostics, and replacement easy.

Turck Introduces EtherNet/IP Encoders for High-Speed Applications

The new EtherNet/IP encoders are available in both singleturn (RS-107/108) and mul- titurn (RM-105/106) variants and come with a diameter of 58 mm, o er a total reso- lution of up to 32 bits (16 for singleturn, 16 for multiturn), and have been designed speci cally for high-speed applications. The encoders o er an RPI (requested packet interval) time of 1 ms, and allows operation in high-speed applications with up to a 1,000 Hz update frequency. These features allow users to save time and costs.

The RS-107/108 and RM-105/106 EtherNet/IP encoders o er a cost e ective, com- pact EtherNet/IP encoder solution with Device Level Ring (DLR) capability. The DLR capabilities allow the network to stay active even if one direction of the communica- tion bus lines is compromised. This is a bi-directional communication capability built into the encoder. For the customer it means that their process can continue while one unit is o -line, greatly in uencing e ciency and reducing costly down-time.

The RS-107/108 and RM-105/106 encoders are available in solid shaft and blind hol- low shaft versions, with the blind shaft version having diameters up to 15 mm. The encoders feature an operating temperature range from -40 to +80 °C and are IP65 rated. Additionally, thanks to their optical design, the encoders are highly immune to interference from magnetic fields.

Turck introduces MINIFAST HEAVY DUTY with ATEX Hazardous Area Approval

Turck has released an expansion to its Minifast offering to provide customers with a more robust solution than currently is available on the market. The new Turck Minifast HD cordset offering also carries hazardous location approvals and is the first of its kind to offer an ATEX approved connector in a complete cable assembled package. Additionally, this product offering includes mating ATEX approved receptacles, junction boxes and lockfast guards. The new offering is an ideal solution for customers in a variety of applications including gas turbines, skids, compressors, and shipboard applications.

While previous ATEX connector solutions typically come as complex and expensive field wireables, the Minifast HD offering provides the convenience and reliability of a full connector assembly at a much lower cost than current solutions. Additionally, these products utilize our Extremelife-60 cables with FT4 and IEC 60332-3-22 flame compliance to provide the ultimate solution for extreme applications.

The Turck Minifast HD solution carries an ATEX Ex nA Category 3 approval as well as a US AEx nA Zone 2 approval. The Minifast HD offering also carries NEMA 1, 3, 4, and 6P and is IEC IP67 and IP68 rated.
